Ham Green Bean Soup Recipe

  1. Combine ham bone and water in 6 qt saucepan.
  2. Cook 1 1/2 hrs.
  3. Remove meat from bone and cut in chunks.
  4. Add in to soup stock, along with green beans, potatoes, onions, parsley, savory, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer covered 20 min, or possibly till vegetables are tender.
  6. Skim off excess fat.
  7. Just before serving stir in 1 c. light cream or possibly lowfat milk.
