Hawaiian Beets

  1. Drain beets and pineapple separately; measure pineapple juice to make 1 cup (if needed add a little beet juice to make up any difference).
  2. Combine juice, cornstarch, molasses and salt in pan; stir until lumps are gone.
  3. Heat over medium heat until sauce thickens and is clear.
  4. Add beets and heat until hot.
  5. Just before serving, add pineapple; warm two or three minutes.
