Old Fashioned Vegetable Beef Soup

  1. Brown ground beef in frying pan.
  2. Add water and boil to get brownings out of pan.
  3. Pour browned water and ground beef into large stock pot.
  4. Add vegetables and seasonings; cover with water.
  5. Bring to a boil and simmer till vegetables are tender.
  6. Add barley and bay leaves towards end of cooking time.
  7. Remove bay leaves before serving.
