American Cafe Chili Recipe

  1. In oil, saute/fry onion, green pepper and garlic 5 min.
  2. Add in meat.
  3. Cook till brown and crumbly.
  4. Drain fat thoroughly.
  5. Add in tomatoes, puree, chili pwdr, cumin, bay leaves, jalapenos, chicken stock and tomato paste.
  6. with the cover off, simmer till thick, about 2 to 3 hrs.
  7. Taste and add in jalapeno juice, if you like.
  8. Suggestion: Serve in bowls, or possibly for a buffet-style meal offer guests steamed rice, kidney or possibly pinto beans to serve chili over.
  9. Good topping choices are: guacamole, lowfat sour cream, shredded zucchini, Monterey Jack cheese or possibly shredded sharp Cheddar cheese.
