Simple Beef Stew

  1. Coat beef with flour.
  2. Heat oil in cast iron skillet and add beef a few pieces at at time to brown.
  3. Transfer cubes to cooker with slotted spoon.
  4. Add onions to skillet.
  5. Coat onions with tomato paste.
  6. Transfer to slow cooker.
  7. Pour wine in skillet, scraping up any browned bits.
  8. Add to Cooker.
  9. Stir in potatoes, carrots, broth, & seasonings.
  10. Cover and cook for 7 1/2 hours.
  11. Add frozen peas in the last half hour of cooking.
