Basic Hamburger Recipe
- 1 sm finely minced onion
- 1 Tbsp. canola oil
- 2 lb lean grnd beef
- 2 x egg
- 3/4 c. breadcrumbs
- 1 Tbsp. sea salt
- 1 tsp fresh grnd pepper
- Saute/fry onion in canola oil till just done and chill.
- Mix all of the above ingredients, adding bread crumbs gradually till you have a mix which will hold together, without being too dry.
- Scoop patties by using a ladle as a measure (4 ounces to 6 ounces).
- When forming the patty make sure which the centre of the patty is shallow and the outside is thicker.
- Since patties will shrink during barbequing this will ensure which the patty remains even once cooked.
- Barbecue over medium to high heat for 5 to 7 min each side.
- Serve on buttered toasted buns with your favourite topping.
