Jack's Golden Butter Cake
- 10 ounces unsalted butter, softened
- 14 12 ounces white sugar
- 10 egg yolks
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 16 ounces cake flour
- 2 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 58 teaspoon kosher salt
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Butter & flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar together until light & fluffy.
- Beat in vanilla.
- Beat in egg yolks one at a time, stopping to scrape down bowl half-way.
- Mix in flour mixture and milk alternating, until ingredients are just incorporated.
- Pour into pans & bake for 35-40 minutes, rotating pans half-way.
- Cake is done when top springs back when gently pressed.
