Beef With Pea Pods Recipe
- 1 pound beef steak
- 4 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tbsp. dry sherry
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 4 tbsp. veg. oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 pound pea pods (or possibly spinach)
- Cut beef across grain 1/4 x 2 inches.
- Mix beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, sherry and sugar.
- Remove stems, strings from pea pods.
- Rinse pea pods and dry pat with a towel.
- Put 2 Tbsp.
- oil in warm skillet over high flame.
- Add in salt, then pods, stirring till pods turn darker green (1 minute).
- Remove pods.
- In skillet add in other 2 Tbsp.
- oil.
- Stir in beef and turn till beef is almost cooked (2 min).
- Add in pea pods and mix thoroughly.
- Keep crisp and serve.
- Add in mushrooms, if you like.
- Substitute green beans, peppers, broccoli, spinach for pods.
