Perfect French Pressed Coffee with Frothed Milk
- 2 tablespoons coarse-ground French roast coffee for every 3/4 cup hot water used
- Hot milk, preferably 2 percent, as needed
- Equipment: French coffee press and a hand-pump milk frother
- Remove the plunger from the coffee press and put the coffee in the bottom.
- Pour in the water, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top and stir with a small wooden spoon.
- Rest the plunger on top of the glass pot and let the coffee steep for about 4 to 6 minutes.
- Meanwhile, pour the hot milk into the frother, insert the plunger, and pump until the milk is frothy.
- Using slight pressure, slowly push the plunger down on the coffee press.
- Divide the coffee among cups and spoon over the frothed milk.
- Serve immediately.
