Broccoli in Sesame Vinegar Miso

  1. Separate the broccoli florets from the stems.
  2. Break the florets into small clusters, and cut the stems vertically.
  3. Boil the stems for 1 minute in boiling water.
  4. Add the florets and boil for 3 minutes.
  5. *The boiling time is just a guide, it will vary depending on the freshness of the broccoli.
  6. Remove a floret and check to see how soft it is.
  7. If it's still hard, boil for a bit longer.
  8. When the broccoli has reached your desired level of softness, drain in a sieve.
  9. I heard that broccoli loses nutrients when boiled in a lot of water, but I always do it this way.
  10. If you are using a microwave, just do as you normally would up to this step.
  11. Make the vinegar miso.
  12. First, mix together the ingredients marked , then mix in the vinegar marked .
  13. It's difficult to mix when runny, so add the vinegar last.
  14. Finally, add the sesame seeds, and your sesame vinegar miso is done!
  15. Serve it on a small plate, and enjoy!
