Meatballs in Onion Sauce

  1. Peel and slice onions, separate into rings.
  2. You should have about 3 cups of onions.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of the margarine in a heavy skillet, add onions and cook slowly till soft.
  4. Dont brown the onions.
  5. Remove onions and reserve.
  6. Combine ground beef with bread crumbs, egg, milk, ketchup, salt and pepper.
  7. Form in 1-1/2 inch balls.
  8. Melt remaining margarine in the same skillet.
  9. Add meatballs and brown.
  10. Remove meatballs.
  11. Blend flour and paprika into the drippings in the pan.
  12. Gradually add bouillon and cook, stirring until thickened.
  13. Return onions and meatballs to the pan and mix gently.
  14. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  15. This can be served over wide egg noodles, spaghetti, rice or mashed potatoes.
