Cocoa French Toast with Cream Cheese and Jam

  1. Mix the ingredients well.
  2. Add the ingredients (the rum is optional).
  3. Chop the cheese finely.
  4. Chop the walnuts roughly, so that they still have a good bite to them.
  5. Split the bread slices in half, and spread the jam, cheese and half the walnuts in the middle.
  6. Do the same with the second bread slice.
  7. Press down lightly on the bread and fillings to stabilize them, and dip in the Step 1 mixture.
  8. Melt butter in a frying pan.
  9. Pan fry the filled and dipped bread on both sides.
  10. It's difficult to tell with the cocoa in the batter, but be sure not to let it burn.
  11. I was able to make 4 slices of the size on the left.
  12. But what I have written down is for slices of the size on the right (12-13 cm long that's sliced diagonally.)
  13. When it's cooked transfer to a serving dish, and optionally add any of the ingredients on top.
  14. Here I topped it with dried berries.
  15. Whipped cream or custard are great too.
  16. Try using fresh or canned fruit instead of jam.
  17. Canned pineapple and peaches go well with the toast too.
  18. Drain the canned fruit before use.
  19. It's also delicious with chopped chocolate.
  20. Use this strawberry jam if you prefer

cheese, bread, kernels walnuts, milk, sugar, egg, cocoa, butter, vanilla oil, honey, fruit
