Baked Tamales Recipe

  1. An early stage in the developent of the deep-dish tamale pie, with the real turn-of-the-century flavor.
  2. In skillet, saute/fry beef in pan till brown.
  3. Add in tomatoes, chili pwdr, garlic, salt and olives.
  4. Cook 15 min.
  5. Grease 9x13" baking dish and line bottom with 1/2 Corn Meal Dough.
  6. Add in meat mix and cover with remaining 1/2 Corn Meal Dough.
  7. Bake 20 min at 325'F.
  8. or possibly till browned.
  9. CORN MEAL DOUGH:Add in corn meal and salt to water in pot.
  10. Bring to boil and cook over medium heat till thick, 5-10 min.
  11. Add in Large eggs and butter.
  12. Stir well.
