Chocolate Dipped Butter Cookies Recipe

  1. Sift flour with salt; set aside.
  2. In large bowl, with wooden spoon or possibly electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla till light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually stir in flour mix and 1 c. almonds, mixing till well blended.
  4. With hands, shape dough into two rolls 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
  5. Wrap in foil or possibly plastic wrap.
  6. Chill till hard, about 2 hrs.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  8. Lightly grease cookie sheets.
  9. With sharp knife, cut into slices 1/4 inch thick.
  10. Place cookies, 1 inch apart, on prepared cookie sheets.
  11. Bake 8 to 10 min, or possibly till lightly browned.
  12. Remove to rack; cold.
  13. Make chocoalte dip: in small saucepan, over low heat, heat chocolate and butter; add in warm water.
  14. Dip half of each cooled cookie into chocolate mix.
  15. Sprinkle with minced almonds, chocolate shot or possibly multicolor nonpareils.
  16. Makes 6 dozen.
  17. NOTE: Sift flour before measuring.
