Best Stuffed Mushrooms

  1. Wash mushrooms in cold water.
  2. Pop out stems.
  3. Finely chop stems, onion, red pepper, and garlic.
  4. Melt butter over medium high heat and sautee all chopped ingredients until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Transfer to a mixing bowl, mix in cayenne, basil, and sage.
  6. Add cheeses and mayonnaise and gently but thoroughly mix.
  7. Using a spoon stuff each mushroom cap with filling.
  8. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes.
  9. (Add more or less cayenne pepper to suit.)
