Beef And Cheese Casserole
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. bell pepper, chopped
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 2 lb. frozen Southern-style hash browns, thawed
- 16 oz. tomato sauce
- 1 c. water
- 6 oz. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 lb. Velveeta, thinly sliced
- Cook beef until browned; drain fat.
- Add pepper and onions. Cook until tender.
- Stir in everything else except cheese.
- Spoon half of the meat mixture into a 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Top with half of the cheese.
- Spoon remaining meat mixture over cheese.
- Cover and bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes.
- Top with remaining cheese.
- Let stand loosely covered until cheese melts.
- Serves 8 to 10.
