Thrifty Buttermilk Lemon Pound Cake Recipe

  1. Cream butter and sugar in mixer bowl till light and fluffy.
  2. Add in Large eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Sift flour, salt and soda together.
  4. Add in to creamed mix alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in lemon extract.
  6. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
  7. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/4 hrs.
  8. Cold in pan.
  9. Invert onto serving plate.
