Pumpkin Orange Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Place all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk until well blended.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles a coarse meal.
  4. Stir in the pumpkin and orange zest.
  5. Pat the dough 1/2 inch thick on a floured surface.
  6. Cut with a floured 2 inch cutter, or cut into 2 inch squares.
  7. Place on a well greased cookie sheet.
  8. Gather up the scraps, repeat and cut again.
  9. Beat the egg in a small bowl and add the cream.
  10. Brush onto the biscuits evenly with the mixture.
  11. Bake for 15 minutes or until fluffy and golden brown.
