Holiday Chocolate Butter Cookies Recipe

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In large bowl combine all ingredients except flour and cocoa.
  3. Beat at medium speed till light and fluffy (2-3 min).
  4. Gradually add in flour and cocoa till well mixed (2-3 min).
  5. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls as desired (1 inch balls, 2-3 inch logs, balls flattened, balls with indentations, etc.)
  6. or possibly use cookie press.
  7. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 7-9 min or possibly till set.
  9. Cold.
  10. Decorate with melted chocolate chips, melted almond bark, nuts, colored sugars, candied fruit, candies, maraschino cherries, etc.
  11. Yield: 3 dozen.
