Classic Stuffed Peppers
- 4 oz. ground sirloin
- 1/4 large onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce, divided
- 1/4 oz. GOOD SEASONS Garlic & Herb Dressing Mix
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 1 large green pepper
- 1/2 cup canned mandarin oranges (in juice)
- 1 Tbsp. PLANTERS Pecan Halves, toasted
- Brown meat with onion in large skillet on medium heat.
- Add 1/4 cup of the tomato sauce, salad dressing mix and rice; stir until well blended.
- Remove from heat.
- Cut tops off pepper; remove seeds.
- Mix remaining tomato sauce and 1 tbsp.
- water in small oven-proof dish.
- Place pepper, cut side up, in dish.
- Spoon meat mixture into pepper; cover with foil.
- Bake at 400° F for 35 to 40 minutes or until pepper is tender.
- Spoon sauce from bottom of dish over peppers just before serving.
- Toss mandarin oranges with toasted pecans for a crunchy and refreshing dessert.
