Van Leeuwens Black Sesame Ice Cream

  1. In a dry skillet, toast the sesame seeds over medium-low heat until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  2. Immediately transfer the seeds to a mortar and pestle, and pound them until they form a sticky paste, almost the consistency of grout.
  3. Add the sesame oil, sugar, and salt, and incorporate until smooth.
  4. Set aside.
