Sour Cream Apple Squares

  1. Heat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
  3. In large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and margarine; blend at low speed until crumbly.
  4. Stir in nuts.
  5. Press 2 3/4 cups of crumb mixture into ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  6. To remaining mixture, add cinnamon, baking soda, salt, sour cream, vanilla and egg; blend well.
  7. Stir in apples.
  8. Spoon evenly over base.
  9. Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Cut into squares.
  11. If desired, serve with whipped cream or ice cream and toppings. Makes 12 servings.
