Amy's Italian Sandwich
- 1/2 lb sliced pastrami
- 1/2 lb sliced hard salami
- 1/2 lb sliced ham
- 1/2 lb sliced provolone or swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup mild or hot banana pepper rimgs
- 8 slice of texas toast
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp minced or 2 cloves chopped garlic
- 1 pinch oregano
- 1/4 tsp dried basil
- 1 head shredded lettuce
- 2 medium sliced tomatoes
- Mix all ingredients except first 6.
- Let sit to marinate.
- Butter all slices of bread on 1 side.
- Take buttered side if bread & place down in heated skillet or panini press.
- Add all meats 1-2 slices each, starting with ham, then salami, then pastrami.
- Top with banana peppers, cheese, then second slice of bread.
- After 1 side of sandwich is cooked like grill cheese, then flip to other side until sandwich is heated thoroughly, cheese is melted, & other side of bread is browned.
- After all sandwiches are made, top inside with lettuce & tomato, then take oil mixture & pour/squirt inside sandwiches.
- Serve with chips, onion rings, or fries.
