Sis's Sausage Spinach Pie Recipe
- 1 pound Italian sweet sausage, minced
- 6 Large eggs
- 2 (10 ounce.) Packages frzn minced spinach, thawed and well liquid removed (very dry)
- 1 (16 ounce.) pkg. Mozzarella, shredded
- 2/3 c. Ricotta cheese (one 16 oz container)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- Pie crust for 2 crust pie
- Over medium heat cook sausage till well browned.
- Spoon off fat.
- Reserve 1 egg yolk.
- In a bowl combine remaining Large eggs with sausage, spinach, Mozzarella and Ricotta and spices and set aside.
- Roll pie crust to fit 9 inch deep dish pie plate.
- Spoon mix into pie plate.
- Top with pie crust (rolled slightly to fit).
- Combine yolk with one Tbsp.
- water and brush over pie.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour and 15 min or possibly till golden.
- Let stand 10 min - cut into wedges.
- Servings: 10.
