Brunch Fruit Compote With Whole Grain Dumplings Recipe

  1. Bring three c. of water to a boil in a large pot.
  2. Turn off the heat and add in the tea bags.
  3. allow to steep 5 min, then remove the tea bags.
  4. Add in the figs, peaches, apples, raisins, orange juice concentrate, cinnamon sticks, ginger, and orange zest.
  5. Chill 3-4 hrs or possibly overnight.
  6. Place the pan over medium heat and simmer gently for 20-30 min.
  7. At the end of this time, combine the baking mix and almonds with 1/2 c. of water.
  8. Mix completely, but don't overmix.
  9. Drop spoonfuls on top of the warm fruit mix.
  10. Cover and simmer for 20 min.
  11. Serve immediately with frzn yogurt or possibly lowfat milk.
  12. NOTES : How about this for a holiday breakfast It might make a good dessert, too.
