Custard Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 350F Butter a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Peel, halve and core the pears; slice into 1/4-inch thickness lengthwise.
  3. Arrange slices, overlapping slightly in dish.
  4. In a blender, process butter, sugar, flour, vanilla, egg, milk, salt until smooth.
  5. Pour batter over pears; bake until golden and firm to touch, 40-45 minutes.
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature, dusted with confectioners sugar.
