Chocolate Pie
- 1 pie crust shell, baked
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 c. dairy sour cream
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 pkg. cocoa blend
- 1 (8 oz.) container whipped topping
- Preheat oven and baking sheet to 400u0b0.
- In a medium bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, salt and cornstarch; mix well.
- In a heavy saucepan on medium heat, cook and stir sugar mixture and milk until mixture thickens and begins to boil.
- Gradually stir 1/4 of hot mixture into beaten egg yolks; add back to remaining hot mixture, stirring constantly.
- Stir in sour cream and butter; continue to cook until mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla, mixing well.
- Stir in chocolate until blended.
- Pour mixture into pie crust.
- Refrigerate about 2 hours before serving. Serves 6.
