Backpacker Bars

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Crush cereal.
  2. Mix sugars, butter, vanilla and eggs in large bowl.
  3. Stir in flour, cereal, 3/4 cup oats, the baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  4. Stir in 3/4 cup of the peanuts and 2/3 cup of the chocolate chips.
  5. Spread in ungreased rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches.
  6. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup peanuts, remaining 1/3 cup chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons oats.
  7. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
