Philly Cheese Steak Melts

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium high heat.
  2. Add onion and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Lower heat to medium low and let carmelize about 20 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Add bread face up to a baking sheet and toast in oven for about 10 minutes.
  5. When onions are nice and brown, add au jus and roast beef.
  6. Sprinkle with pepper.
  7. Give it a stir.
  8. Heat for 5 minutes then remove bread from oven and start your assembly.
  9. Spoon the meat and onion mixture with sauce on top of bread.
  10. Sprinkle with cheese and return to oven until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Slice into pieces and enjoy!
