Homemade Fondue
- 1 lb Gruyere cheese ( or ementhaler or a combination of both)
- 1 3/4 cup Dry white wine
- 1/2 clove Garlic
- 1/4 cup Gin ( or kirsch if you have it available)
- 3 tsp Corn starch
- Grate all the cheese
- In a stove pot or directly on your fondue pot, heat the wine and slowly add the grated cheese, stirring constantly until it melts
- Mix the gin and corn starch together until dissolved, add to the pot.
- Optional: add the garlic clove
- Bring to boil and season with the nutmeg and the pepper.
- If not thick enough, add more corn starch/gin, otherwise add more wine.
- Serve with bread, or other dippers like grapes, apples, cherry tomatoes...
