homemade vanilla extract

• 1 cup vodka
• 3 vanilla beans, split lengthwise

1. combine vodka and vanilla beans in a tall glass jar and seal tightly.
2. place in a cool, dark place for six weeks.
3. once a week, shake jar gently.
