Italian-Style Oven-Baked Sardines
- 5 Sardines
- 1/2 Tomato
- 1/4 Onion
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 dash Pepper
- 1 Salt and pepper ( for seasoning )
- 1 Melting type cheese
- 1 Panko
- Remove the heads and guts from the sardines, (alternatively, ask the fish dealer to do this or buy them already prepped to save time).
- Put the sardines on a plate and lightly season with salt and pepper.
- (Season evenly inside the sardines as well.)
- Combine the minced tomato, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in a baking dish and mix.
- Stuff the sardines with the vegetables.
- Line the bottom of the dish with a layer of vegetables, then place the sardines on top (as shown in the photo).
- Top with cheese, then panko, then evenly drizzle the olive oil over the panko.
- Bake in an oven (no need to preheat) set to 250C for 20 minutes and it's done!
