Pork Chops in Applesauce
- 2 tablespoons honey mustard
- 12 teaspoon pepper
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup maple syrup, divided
- 4 pork loin chops (about 3/4-inch thick)
- 1 cup prepared chunky applesauce
- 1 cup pecan halves, broken into large chunks
- 2 tablespoons apple brandy (French is best)
- In a small bowl, combine the mustard, pepper, salt, and 2 tsp syrup.
- Brush over both sides of the pork chops.
- Brown pork in a non-stick skillet over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until done to your liking.
- Add apple sauce.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until meat is tender.
- Remove chops and keep warm.
- In a small frying pan, add pecans, remaining syrup, and apple brandy.
- Cook on high heat for 1 to 2 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
- Pour sauce over pork and serve immediately.
