Pinwheel Cheese Pie Recipe
- 5 well-beaten Large eggs
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 2/3 c. undiluted Carnation evaporated lowfat milk
- 1/3 c. water
- 1 tbsp. finely minced green onion
- 8 slices day old bread
- Soft butter
- 6 slices cooked crumbled bacon
- Combine Large eggs, cheese, evaporated lowfat milk, water and green onion.
- Pour into buttered 9-inch pie plate.
- Trim crust from bread, lightly butter.
- Cut each slice of bread in half diagonally.
- Place bread triangle in egg mix overlapping pinwheel fashion.
- Sprinkle bacon over bread.
- Bake in a moderate 350 degree oven for 40 to 45 min or possibly till knife inserted halfway between edge and center comes out clean.
- Cut and serve.
- Makes 4 to 6 servings.
