Butterscotch Sauce

  1. Combine all the ingredients except for the vanilla in a heavy saucepan.
  2. Stirring constantly, bring the sauce to a boil over high heat.
  3. Boil for 5 minutes from the time it starts to bubble at a full rolling boil.
  4. Remove from the heat.
  5. Add the vanilla.
  6. Let cool slightly and serve warm.
