Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- margarine, softened
- 1-1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 2-1/2 cup Quaker Oats (quick
- old fashioned), uncooked
- 12 oz. Nestle Toll House Semi-SweetChocolate Morsels
- 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)
- Heat oven to 375F.
- Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well.
- Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.
- Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well.
- Drop by rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 9-10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12-13 minutes for a crisp cookie.
- Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
- Cool completely.
