Thick and Creamy Hummus
- 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Low Sodium Chickpeas
- 4 Tablespoons Tahini
- 6 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 3 Tablespoons Water
- 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 2 teaspoons Cumin
- 2 teaspoons Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 teaspoon Corriander
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- Rinse chickpeas under cold water in a colander, discarding liquid in can.
- Place chickpeas into food processor.
- Add remaining ingredients to food processor and blend until smooth.
- If mixture looks too thick, add a bit more water and/or olive oil, one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Note: consistency will be thicker than the typical store bought version.
- One combined, taste and alter seasonings to your taste preference.
- Serve with warm whole wheat pita bread and a side of vegetables!
