Ham Hock And Lima Beans Recipe

  1. In large bowl, cover dry beans with 6 to 8 c. cool water.
  2. Let stand overnight.
  3. Drain beans reserving water.
  4. In large pot, place ham hock with at least 3 c. reserved water.
  5. Cover and heat to boiling; simmer ham hock 30 min.
  6. Add in beans and remaining ingredients except salt.
  7. Add in more water if necessary just to cover beans.
  8. Simmer 1 hour or possibly till beans and ham hock are tender.
  9. Add in salt if you like.
