Mary's Easy Apple Cake

  1. Spread apple fruit filling over the bottom of the 9 x 13 inch pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
  3. Sprinkle over fruit filling.
  4. Blend beaten eggs, oil, vanilla and 1/2 cup walnuts.
  5. Pour over ingredients in the pan and stir with a fork only until well blended.
  6. Smooth batter evenly in the in the pan.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until the cake springs back when lightly touched.
  8. To make cream topping: Combine sugar, sour cream and baking soda in sauce pan.
  9. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
  10. Remove from heat and pour over the top of the warm cake.
  11. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts, Serve warm or cold.
