Chicken Stew in Crockpot - Prickly Pear's Country Chicken Pottage

  1. Place first 5 ingredients into a crock pot in the order given.
  2. Mix together the sauce ingredients and pour over chicken.
  3. Cook on LOW for 9 hours.
  4. Stir.
  5. Add 1/2 cup (125 ml) heavy cream.
  6. Then mix in 1 cup (225 ml) cold water with 2 tbsp (30 ml) cornstarch dissolved therein.
  7. Mix well with chicken mixture in crockpot.
  8. Cook on HIGH another 30 minutes--stirring after 15 minutes and at end of total cooking time (sauce should have a nice thick gravy-like consistency).
