Easy Chicken Nuggets (Can Be Gluten-Free!)
- 1 -2 chicken breast, depending on the size of your family
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Can use Gluten-Free breadcrumbs!)
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning (or Sage)
- salt and pepper
- 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 3 cups oil (Any kind you may have. I used canola oil)
- Cut up the chicken in bite size pieces.
- Using three seperate bowls, in the 1st bowl, mix the egg with a fork and add the milk.
- Mix well.
- In the 2nd bowl, add the cornmeal, cornstarch, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper and mix well.
- In the 3rd bowl, mix the bread crumbs and the sesame seeds.
- Stir well.
- Heat a large round pot (I used a saucee pan, which is a large, rounded sauce pan), add the oil and heat at Med/High for about 5 minutes and the oil is hot.
- Dip the chicken pieces into the cornmeal mixture, then into the egg, and then into the bread crumbs and dip into the hot oil.
- Fry about 5 pieces at a time.
- Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown, which should take about 5 minutes per batch.
- Remove from hot oil and allow to drain on paper towels.
