Bread With Yeast Ferment Recipe

  1. Combine sugar, salt, shortening, and ferment.
  2. Add in flour slowly, beating thoroughly after each addition till a dough just stiff sufficient to knead is formed.
  3. Knead on lightly floured board till dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover with a hot, damp cloth.
  5. Allow to double in bulk, work down, again cover and allow to double in bulk.
  6. Form into loaves and place in well-oiled pans.
  7. Cover and let rise till double in bulk.
  8. Bake in warm oven (450 F) 45 60 min.
  9. 4 loaves.
