Mint Juleps
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups chopped fresh mint leaves
- 4 cups bourbon
- Crushed ice
- Fresh mint leaves, for garnish
- Add sugar to water and bring water to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium; simmer for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, add chopped mint and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let syrup sit overnight.
- Strain syrup.
- Fill cups with crushed ice.
- Combine bourbon with syrup and pour over nice.
- Garnish with mint leaves.
