Caroline's Gingerbread
- 150 g butter
- 175 g soft brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons treacle
- 25 g plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 150 ml milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 chopped apples
- Melt together the butter, brown sugar and treacle.
- Mix the rest of the ingredients together and bake at 170 degrees Celcius for 30 - 35 minutes.
- I use a pan about 10 x 8 inches.
