Gluten Free French Fried Onions
- 1- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1- 1/2 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 1- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 whole Onion, Sliced Into Thin Rings
- 13 cups Teff Flour
- 13 cups Arrowroot Starch
- 13 cups Tapioca Flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cups Olive Oil, For Frying
- In a large bowl, mix together milk, lemon juice, salt and sliced onions.
- Stir and toss onions and allow to soak for a few minutes.
- Meanwhile, place all flours and salt into a large Ziploc bag.
- Heat the oil on medium/high heat (until it pops when a drop of water is added).
- Once oil is heated, toss a few of the onions in the flour mixture then place in the oil.
- Fry for a few minutes on each side until crispy.
- Watch them carefully so they do not get overcooked.
- Remove and place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
