Philly Cheesesteak Burgers

  1. For the burgers:
  2. In a large bowl, combine all burger ingredients.
  3. Mix well with hands.
  4. Make 4 equal half pound burgers.
  5. Form into patties.
  6. Place a small dimple in center.
  7. (This is to reduce shrinkage and help from plumping up to much in the middle)
  8. Cook burgerss how you like them done, skillet, grill, oven.
  9. Etc.
  10. Set aside and keep warm.
  11. ( cook veggies while these are cooking)
  12. For the veggies:
  13. Combine all veggie ingredients in a large skillet.
  14. Saute until veggies are tender but not mushy.
  15. Place in a bowl and set aside.
  16. Keep warm.
  17. Assembly:
  18. Toast buns if u wish, i do.. dab butter in skillet, place buns and cook until golden.
  19. Or use a grill.
  20. Place bottom of kaiser on a plate.
  21. Place burger on top.
  22. Spread mayo on top inside of bun.
  23. Top burger with sauted veggies.
  24. In a small saucepan.. add 1/4 tbl butter, melt it, add 1/4 of the shredded cheese, heat and stir until melted.
  25. Pour over burger.
  26. Add tomato and lettuce.
  27. (If desired)
  28. Top with top bun.
  29. Serve and enjoy!
  30. NOTE: if u dont want half pound burgers, make 8 1/4 lb.
  31. Burgers.
  32. And you will just need a bit extra tomato, lettuce, cheese.. etc.. to cover each burger.
