Dads Famous Sausages
- 3 pounds Smoked Sausages
- 1 bottle (Large 18 Oz. Bottle) Open Pit Barbecue Sauce
- 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons Minced Onion
- Cut sausages in 1/4-inch thick pieces and boil until grease is cooked out, approximately 20 minutes.
- While sausage is boiling, mix all ingredients together in a crock pot and start to heat it up.
- After sausages are done, remove and drain all the liquid and place sausages into the crock pot and cook for a minimum of 2 hours.
- I prefer to let it sit in the sauce overnight, after it gets heated up, to get really good flavor soaked in.
- Then, heat in the crock pot for 2-3 hours.
- We serve this with Town House or Club crackers.
- Its very easy to double this recipe and if you double it, it will easily fill a large crock pot!
