  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the squash and onion in a microwave-safe container, cover, and microwave at full power until the squash is fork tender, about 4 minutes, or steam over simmering water.
  3. Transfer the vegetables to a 2-quart ovenproof casserole dish.
  4. Mix in the cheese, tomato sauce, seasoned salt, and artificial sweetener, if desired.
  5. Cover and bake for 20 minutes.
