Hamburger Relish Recipe
- 2 (8 ounce.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (6 ounce.) can tomato paste
- 3/4 c. cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 c. diced celery
- 1 1/2 c. diced onion
- 1 c. diced green pepper
- 1 teaspoon horseradish
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon basil
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 3/4 c. sugar
- Tabasco sauce
- Stir tomato sauce, tomato paste and vinegar together.
- Put celery, onions and green pepper in saucepan and add in tomato mix.
- Mix horseradish, salt, mustard, paprika, basil and oregano with sugar; stir into tomato mix.
- Bring to a boil; simmer, uncovered for 45 min, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat.
- For those who like more zip and tang to their relish, divide the relish into 2 portions and to one portion add in 1/2 to 1 tsp.
- of Tabasco sauce.
- Cold to room temperature and serve with hamburgers.
