Copy Cat Bull's-Eye Original BBQ Sauce
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 2/3 cup vinegar
- 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
- 3 tbsp molasses
- 1 1/4 tsp liquid smoke (hickory flavored if you can find it)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground mustard
- 1/8 tsp paprika
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
- Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over high heat and whisk until smooth.
- Bring mixture to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 45 minutes or until thick.
- Cool.
- Store in a covered container in the refrigerator overnight.
- *This recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups of sauce.
